This week's question:
What was the best Christmas (or other holiday) gift you ever received?
My Answer:
I can't remember very far back. Hmmm....the only thing I can think of that was super awesome at the time, and hopefully this was actually for Christmas and not my birthday, was when my aunt and uncle got me my very first cell phone. I'm pretty sure that it was sometime after I graduated from high school, since I don't remember ever having one during that time. But I had been wanting a cell phone for a very long time, but my parents could never afford to buy me one. My mom could barely keep hers going. So I was completely surprised when I opened the gift my aunt and uncle gave me. I wasn't expecting them to give me something so expensive. It wasn't anything super fancy. It was a prepaid Nokia. There was no camera or any of that other stuff cell phones have now. But at the time, it was the best present ever.

DeleteGetting a cell phone (God, am I saying this?) back then was a big deal! My uncle by marriage, now removed due to divorce, who honestly is a better uncle than all of mine by blood, made a deal with me and all of his children since I was with them so much: he'd pay for my phone plan through college, and after I graduated I'd start paying for it. I started out with my cousin's hand-me-down flip phone. It was all beat up, but it was mine! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!

DeleteI remember my first cell phone as well. It was one of the really good gifts.. but then I remember that I was expected to pay the bill.. it wore off quickly hahaha. Thanks for sharing & stopping by! :)

That must be pretty awesome the first time you get a cell phone. When I was younger no one in my school had a cell, so I didn't end up getting one until I moved to another state and wanted to make long distance calls for cheap.
