Published: April 23rd, 2015
Genres: New Adult, Contemporary, Romantic Comedy

When Sydney Porter transfers to Northern University, she’s ready to put her past behind her. Landing a job on campus as an irreverent radio personality, she uses the anonymity to air all the campus dirty laundry—earning the infamous Sunday Lane more than a few enemies. But her true passion is spinning records, even if Drunk Earl is her biggest fan.

Sydney’s junior year kicks off with the promise to be amazing. Or at least it does until Gray Peters, hotshot quarterback, unexpectedly reenters the scene. His presence threatens to destroy everything she has going, as well as resurrecting a night Sydney never wants to remember or repeat. She’d run away like a coward, but this time she's determined to stay and fight.

A twisted battle of wit and trickery ensues, with one common goal—vengeance. Sydney and Gray set out to make each other miserable. But misery loves company, and soon, walls are destroyed and truths are revealed that could change their future forever.

I added another track, exploding the speaker with a fast beat, and danced around until I felt a pair of hands run up the sides of my thighs, slow and easy.

“What are you doing?” I yelled up at Peters. He was standing directly behind me and the top of my head landed just below his chin. His answer was to pull my backside into his hips.

“I’m dancing, Sinister.” He groaned into the back of my neck. “This is what you wanted, right? No inhibitions. I’m your bitch tonight, right? We can start flinging knives in the morning.”

I let out a cracked laugh, not quite understanding this one-eighty in his personality. “You don’t bring a knife to a gun fight, Peters, but if you’re referencing your dick, I’d be shocked to receive a paper cut.”

He pressed even farther into me as I continued to mix.

Looking back on this now, I should have just elbowed him in the stomach and tripped him off the edge of the balcony, but I was drunk. Elated by the dancing crowd. Everything about this place screamed sex—the people, the lighting, the sweat dripping off bodies, and his husky breathing against my ear breaking down my protective dome. I tried to muster the strength to stop him, but with my mind half altered, my body took over completely.

As if he knew I was struggling, he gently lifted the back of my damp hair and planted his lips on my neck. His tongue swept across my skin, and he softly moaned over my fret board. I released a sharp breath into the microphone, and he laughed against the back of my ear.

“What… are… you—”

Before I could finish my pathetic plea to end this, his hands slid over my front, gliding down my stomach and stopping just before the waistband of my underwear.

“Peters,” I rasped.

His hand rolled over my shirt, and he pulled it deep between my legs. I let out a breathy groan into the microphone and tipped back my head until it rested against his shoulder. Peters dragged his tongue up the inside of my neck like I was a Popsicle—his favorite flavor—long and flat. He pulled my sweat into his mouth.

When the music rose to a sharp crescendo, so did my panting, right into the mic. It was hard to believe this six-foot-two behemoth could deliver such a delicate touch, but I didn’t have to turn around to know it was him. My body had a memory of its own.

KF Germaine is a Pacific Northwest native and part-time author. Besides reading too late into the night (4 AM is still considered night, right?), KF has several life pleasures which she won’t list because, well, it begins to read like an Oscar-winner acceptance speech and no one wants to hear about her hairdresser. Instead, KF believes one's secret enjoyments are more telling. So to name a few: Circus Peanuts candy, watching country music videos on mute, and awkward/borderline-inappropriate conversations with grocery clerks.

TAG | Reader Problems

I saw the Reader Problems Tag over at Book Chick and thought I'd give it a go! So here it is...

1.) You have 20,000 books on your TBR, how do you decide what to read? - I think about what kind of story I'm in the mood for and look for books that fit that description. I'll usually just pick the on that catches my eye first.

2.) You're halfway through a book, and hating it. Do you quit, or commit? - I usually take a break and finish it later.

3.) The end of the year is near, and your so close, but so far from your goodreads challenge. Do you try to catch up and how? - Yes. I go for shorter books that won't take me too long to read so that I can make it by the challenges end.

4.) The covers of a series do not match. How do you cope? - That is one thing I hate the most. I'm really picky about things being in their place and matching if they are supposed to. So when covers don't match, I start to get kind of twitchy. If I can't get the books with all the same cover, I'll just get the new cover and hope I get over it soon. I don't have the money to buy all new matching covered books.

5.) Everyone and their mother loves a book you just didn't love. Who do you bond with over shared feelings? - You know, I figure everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I'm fine with that. If you loved a book I didn't, that's great. I'm happy you were able to enjoy it. If you didn't like the book, then lets talk about what we both didn't like. That's just how it is.

6.) You're reading a book and you're about to cry in public. How do you deal? - This happens to me all the time! I'm at the library everyday, so when I'm reading a particularly sad part in a book and I feel like I'm going to start ugly-snot-crying, I try to hold it in until I'm alone. That's probably not very healthy, but there is no way I'm ugly crying in front of people. But when I'm finally alone, those tear and snot are in abundance. Sometimes it takes me a while to be able to stop crying.

7.) A sequel of a book you love just came out, but you forgot a lot from the prior novel. Do you re-read, skip the sequel, find a summary, or just cry in frustration? - I'll skim the previous book I had read to refresh my memory about what happened.

8.) You do not want anyone borrowing your books. How do you politely tell no when they ask? - I've never had anyone ask to borrow one of my books, but if I did I'd probably still let them borrow it, but promise (in writing) that if it comes back damaged in any way, that they'll either pay me the cover price to get a new one or they'll replace it for me themselves.

9.) Reading ADD. You've picked up and put down 5 different books in the last month. How do you get over a reading slump? - I just hope for a great mind-blowing book to come to me.

10.) There are so many books coming out that you're dying to read. How many do you buy? - Not that many. I'll either wait for them to go on sale or request them from NetGalley. I don't have much money to buy a ton of books.

11.) After you've bought the books you can't wait to get to, how long do they sit there collecting dust? - I'm not sure. But I try to get to them as soon as I can. Sometimes that doesn't work out though.

THAT'S IT!

He approached the chair beside my bed and dropped down into it, keeping his eyes trained on mine.

“Hi?”

A devious smirk tipped his lips as he placed the bag on the floor and lowered my tray table in the space between us. He reached inside the crinkly bag, letting his hand linger. I’d give him props. He definitely knew how to pique my curiosity. His hand slid out grasping a shot glass. His eyes stayed on mine as he placed it on the empty tray table in front of him. Then he reached back in and pulled out a second glass.

“Thirsty?”

A slow sexy smile skated across his lips as he slid the glass across the table in front of me. But he wasn’t done. He reached back in the bag and pulled out a full bottle of vodka.

“Seriously?” I laughed.

He nodded. “You scared?”

“Scared I’m gonna drink you under the table.”

He threw back his head and let loose a shoulder shaking laugh. So carefree. So comfortable. So unbelievably breathtaking.

But once it continued much longer than necessary, I crossed my arms over the UNC printed on my powder-blue T-shirt. “Are we playing a game or just trying to get sloppy drunk?”

His laughter subsided as he dug into his pocket and pulled out a quarter, holding it up so the fluorescent lights in my room reflected off it.

“So, we’re wagering?”

He nodded. “And with the pain meds getting the liquor to your head quicker, you being drunk off your ass is just an added bonus.”

I swallowed down. Hard.

“Now if I win…” He twisted his lips like he really needed to consider the stakes. “I get to give you a sponge bath.”

He said it so matter-of-factly, it threw me for a loop. Then again, it seemed like a win-win for me.

“If you win,” he continued. “You give me a sponge bath.”

“Who said I’d want to give you a sponge bath?” I totally did.

“Seriously? Have you seen me?”

I almost choked on the arrogance floating around the room. But in all honesty, I liked it. Too much. A guy who knew who he was and what he wanted turned me on. It’s what I was drawn to. What I normally sought out. I nodded toward the vodka. “Where’d you get it?”

“My buddy Avery smuggled it in.”

“All in an effort to get me drunk?”

His smile spread wide. “All in an effort to get you drunk and give you a sponge bath.”

“Ever think of just asking?”

I'm a total romance junkie! Add an alpha male who's unlikable in the beginning...even better. Happy endings are a must. Don’t leave me with an unexpected cliffhanger or someone dying in the end. Feature & Follow Friday | Blog Titles

Feature & Follow Friday is a weekly book blogger meme hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read to help bloggers gain new followers on their site.

This week's question is:

How did you come up with your blog title and address? Does it have a special meaning for you?

My answer:

I've had a number of different book blogs, but they would eventually become bogged down with material that didn't have much of my own personal thoughts, then I hit a slump where I just wasn't enjoying blogging at all. Because of that I decided that maybe I should expand what I blog about so that it's not just books, but movies, TV, etc. These were things that I never really told my thoughts about, so when I created my new blog I was thinking about how my thoughts were "Once Untold" about these topics. That's how the title of my blog came to be.

I'm a lover of all things books, I've been an obsessive reader since I learned how to spell! I've been writing novels and short stories since I was twelve, but they say to write the genre you love the most, so as an adult, I fell easily into writing romance. My husband is my biggest supporter and he's a great sport when it comes to fighting the people in my imagination for my attention. I hope you enjoy reading my books as much as I enjoy writing them!
