Feature & Follow Friday | Love/Hate Relationship with BooksParajunkeeAlison Can Read
This week's question is:
Have you ever read a book you thought you’d hate but loved? Or vice versa?
So there are two books that come to mind when thinking of this question.
The first is Human.4 (or 0.4 as it's titled now). I thought I was going to hate that book, but I ended up loving it and gave it a 5 star rating.
I was turned off by the cover because it kind of grossed me out. I'll admit that I judged this book by it's cover. It was the summary that made me more interested in this book and I wasn't disappointed.
Vampire Academy Graphic Novel. I thought I was going to love that book, but I ended up hating it and gave it a 2 star rating.
I'm a huge manga and graphic novel fan, so whenever a book I loved is adapted into one, I'm always really excited. But I will admit that I'm picky when it comes to color or black-and-white inking. I HATE comics in color and this one was made worse because it was on glossy pages so there was a lot of glare. I also felt like the story was WAY watered down. I just didn't enjoy it.
