TAG | Zombie Apocalypse Book Tag

I saw the Zombie Apocalypse Book Tag over at Bookgatherer, so be sure to check out her post too! For a better understanding of how this tag works, check out the original Tag video!

So this is how it works:

1. Choose five (of your favourite) books
2. Turn to a random pages
3. The first name you see will be on your Zombie Apocalyse survival team
4. Apply the names to the situations
5. Be honest, how likely will you survive this apocalypse?

Here are the books I chose (in tag order):

I chose the order by writing the titles on Post-It Notes and shuffling them.

Now here's my team!

Hard As It Gets

1. THE FIRST PERSON TO DIE: NICK

Nick would have been one of my strongest team members, and he dies first??? NO! Being an ex-Special Forces team leader, he would have been good in combating the zombies.

2. THE PERSON YOU TRIP TO GET AWAY FROM THE ZOMBIES: BECCA

I love you, Becca, and I'm so sorry I gotta sacrifice you to save myself. The fact that she's a nurse, should make me want to keep her around.

Breaking Dawn

3. THE FIRST PERSON TO TURN INTO A ZOMBIE: ESME
Really?? I think I'd feel kind of bad if I had to kill her. And how in the world would she be turned into a zombie when her skin is like rock??

4. THE PERSON THAT TRIPS YOU TO GET AWAY FROM THE ZOMBIES: EDWARD

How could you, Edward?? You're a freaking vampire, you're impervious to zombies!

Stolen

5. THE IDIOT OF THE TEAM: CLAY

We're doomed if Clay is the idiot of the team. He's one of the smartest people on the team!

6. THE “BRAINS” OF THE TEAM: ADAM

I'm glad that someone who's knowledgeable about the supernatural is the brains of the team.

Shadowfever

7. THE TEAM’S MEDIC: DRUSTAN

I can definitely see Drustan as the medic. He's a Druid, so I'm sure he knows some kind of healing spell.

8. THE WEAPONS EXPERT: RYODAN

Ryodan is a scary dude and knows everything going on around him. I have no doubt that he's an expert with weapons. Although Ryodan is a weapon himself.

Winning Glory

9. THE BRAWLER: GLORY

Glory is a genetically enhanced super human who can shoot lightning from her hands. Definitely one of out best fighters.

10. THE TEAM CAPTAIN: ROY

Roy would be a great team captain! He's already the leader of a CIA black-ops team, plus he has augmented abilities that are the same or close to those that his girl Glory has.

Likelihood of Survival?

I'd say pretty good, considering that most of the people on my team are some of the strongest and most capable people in their respective book worlds. As long as everyone keeps their act together, I see no problem surviving the Zombie Apocalypse.

TAG | Would You Rather - Book Edition

I saw this tag on The Bookavid and I just had to do it too! Be sure to head over there and check out Jen's post!

1.) ...only read trilogies for the rest of your life or stand-alone novels?

- I'd rather read stand-alone novels for the rest of my life. In the ratio of book series to stand alones, I usually like the stand alones more, so I'd rather not have a long list of unfinished series in my lifetime of reading.

2. ...only read novels by female or by male authors for the rest of your life?

- Female! Most of the books I read are written by female authors and I connect better with a female author's writing.

3. ...only buy books in book stores or at one online store for the rest of your life?

- This one's hard. I don't go to book stores that often, so I'd say online retailers.

4. ...have all your favorite novels made into movies or TV shows?

- TV show, because the world and characters can be expanded more than they can be in movies. TV shows can go on for a while, whereas once a movie is out it's over and nothing changes.

5. ...only be able to read five pages a day for the rest of your life or have to read five novels a week?

- Five novels a week. I'd probably die if I could only read five pages a day.

6. ...earn enough money to pay your bills as a professional book reviewer or author?

- Book reviewer. My writing ability isn't good enough to be an author, besides I think I'd enjoy reading more than writing and being a reviewer you do both. Writing reviews is so much easier.

7. ...have to be only able to reread your favorite twenty books for the rest of your life or only be able to read novels you haven't read before?

- Unread novels. I'd get bored if I had to read the same books over and over, no matter how much I liked them.

8. ...be a book seller or a librarian?

- Book seller. My dream is to own my own book store.

9. ...be only able to read books from your favorite genre for the rest of your life or only be able to read books from every genre BUT your favorite?

- Books from my favorite genre. If I had to read everything but my favorite, I might end up living a life of reading non-fiction. No thanks.

TAG | Reader Problems

I saw the Reader Problems Tag over at Book Chick and thought I'd give it a go! So here it is...

1.) You have 20,000 books on your TBR, how do you decide what to read? - I think about what kind of story I'm in the mood for and look for books that fit that description. I'll usually just pick the on that catches my eye first.

2.) You're halfway through a book, and hating it. Do you quit, or commit? - I usually take a break and finish it later.

3.) The end of the year is near, and your so close, but so far from your goodreads challenge. Do you try to catch up and how? - Yes. I go for shorter books that won't take me too long to read so that I can make it by the challenges end.

4.) The covers of a series do not match. How do you cope? - That is one thing I hate the most. I'm really picky about things being in their place and matching if they are supposed to. So when covers don't match, I start to get kind of twitchy. If I can't get the books with all the same cover, I'll just get the new cover and hope I get over it soon. I don't have the money to buy all new matching covered books.

5.) Everyone and their mother loves a book you just didn't love. Who do you bond with over shared feelings? - You know, I figure everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I'm fine with that. If you loved a book I didn't, that's great. I'm happy you were able to enjoy it. If you didn't like the book, then lets talk about what we both didn't like. That's just how it is.

6.) You're reading a book and you're about to cry in public. How do you deal? - This happens to me all the time! I'm at the library everyday, so when I'm reading a particularly sad part in a book and I feel like I'm going to start ugly-snot-crying, I try to hold it in until I'm alone. That's probably not very healthy, but there is no way I'm ugly crying in front of people. But when I'm finally alone, those tear and snot are in abundance. Sometimes it takes me a while to be able to stop crying.

7.) A sequel of a book you love just came out, but you forgot a lot from the prior novel. Do you re-read, skip the sequel, find a summary, or just cry in frustration? - I'll skim the previous book I had read to refresh my memory about what happened.

8.) You do not want anyone borrowing your books. How do you politely tell no when they ask? - I've never had anyone ask to borrow one of my books, but if I did I'd probably still let them borrow it, but promise (in writing) that if it comes back damaged in any way, that they'll either pay me the cover price to get a new one or they'll replace it for me themselves.

9.) Reading ADD. You've picked up and put down 5 different books in the last month. How do you get over a reading slump? - I just hope for a great mind-blowing book to come to me.

10.) There are so many books coming out that you're dying to read. How many do you buy? - Not that many. I'll either wait for them to go on sale or request them from NetGalley. I don't have much money to buy a ton of books.

11.) After you've bought the books you can't wait to get to, how long do they sit there collecting dust? - I'm not sure. But I try to get to them as soon as I can. Sometimes that doesn't work out though.
