Feature & Follow Friday | Biggest Pet Peeves in Books

The Feature and Follow is the premium BLOG HOP of Book Bloggers, hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. Running for over five years, the Feature and Follow's goal is to promote the book blogging and author community to join together and support each other - even if it is just through a simple follow. The FF also promotes creative post options by offering interesting topics we can all talk about and comment on! Come join us.

This week's topic:

What are some of your biggest pet peeves with books?

(i.e. love triangles, etc.)

My Answer:

One of my biggest pet peeves is when a stand alone novel with no series or companion novels in the works, has an open ending. It drives me absolutely insane and leaves me disappointed at the end of the book. There was one book that I absolutely loved, but then I got to the end and it was a complete let down because there wasn't a definitive conclusion. In my opinion, the only time an open ending should be acceptable is when there is a series planned or a set of companion novels in the works. If it's going to be a stand alone it should just end right there. FIN.

  1. Yes I do prefer a book as a standalone to have a good ending and not an open one! Old follower
